2009 Foundation of Lang Tube Tec GmbH
Lang Tube Tec was founded by the Schulz Group and DFS Montageautomation in order to strengthen technologic and economic development with benefit for our customers. Also to widen the range of supplied equipment to provide industrial tube processing solutions.
2008 End of business activity of Lang Rohrbiegemaschinen GmbH
& Co. KG
2002 First all electric Tube Bender for tubes up to 80 mm OD
Having introduced to the market already in 1987 the first all electric tube bender for thin tubes, was now also designed and manufactured an all electric tube bender with a total of 11 electric servo axes for tubes with an OD of up to 80 mm. These tube benders turned out to be the role model and did perfectly prove itself in a lot of automotive companies.
2000 Brake through as system supplier for automatic tube bending
cells
This year Lang was chosen in a selection process of GM among 9 world wide renowned suppliers of tube bending machines as system supplier for fully automatic bending cells in front of hydro forming presses. Besides technology, quality and ability to develop, the engagement of the staff on all levels, in engineering, design, assembly as well as service convinced the customer. Within 3 years a total of 6 automatic bending cells with two to four tube benders each including tube magazine, loader, weld seam detection, tube shape control, buffer transfer as well as cell control system based on use of Allan Bradley. A lot of orders from other customers in the same market segment did follow.
1995 Development of an own control system
In order to strengthen the engineering capacity in 1995 was developed a new control system which was based on use of standard off-the-shelf components. This was an additional step to optimize service and to increase capabilities in direction to the development as system supplier for automated tube bender cells.
1987 First all electric tube bender for thin tubing
Already in 1987 Lang did built the first tube bender without use of any hydraulics, where all axes have been driven by electric servomotors. Also in this case first presentation on the Hannover Industry show was a tremendous success.
1983 Multi-stack tube bender with automatic multi-stack
tool changer
In this year the first tube bender in multi-stack version was supplied to a shipyard. Using multi-stack tooling it was possible to reduce the required number of tool changes. In order to further optimize the equipment of this installation, the bender was equipped with an automatic tool changer for stacked tooling.
1975 First CNC controlled tube bender
During the EMO show in Hanover the very first CNC controlled tube bender from Lang was exhibited. In cooperation with an expert for controls engineering had been developed a control system perfectly adapted to the requirement of tube bending technology.
1960 Constant growth
The company initially founded as small craftsman enterprise did develop into a mid size enterprise. Company premises have been constantly enlarged. Short after construction of a new production hall had been added also an assembly hall.
1948 Pioneer for tube bending machines
The initially developed tube bender just for private use, was exhibited in 1948 for the first time during the Hanover Industry Fair and was immediately resoundingly successful.
1936 Move to a new company location
Short after his move to a new company location in Michelstadt, the problems in laying water and heating pipes led him to develop a tube bending device.
1930 Establishment of the company
Ludwig Lang founded in 1930 his heating installation workshop, the Ludwig Lang GmbH
